Samba Classes
Learn the Exciting Variation of Canasta
For players who already enjoy Canasta and are looking to expand their skills, Annise also offers instruction in Samba, one of the most exciting and strategic variations of the Canasta family of games.
Samba introduces new challenges, advanced meld requirements, and deeper strategic gameplay, making it an excellent next step for experienced Canasta players seeking a fresh and engaging experience.
What is Samba?
A Samba is made up of seven cards of the same rank. It can be any suit.
A Samba is worth 2,000 points.

Wednesday Session

Friday Session
- Dates: August 21 & August 28
- Time: 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM
Super Samba Classes
Super Samba is a variation of Canasta with 378 cards.
Game
The game consists of 3–4 rounds. For the 3-round game, the melds are 70, 90, and 120 points.
A team creates what is called a book by closing a Canasta, a Samba, or a Super Samba.
Book Requirements — First Round
- 5 Clean Canastas
- 1 Super Samba
- 1 Samba
- 1 Wild Canasta
- 1 7s Canasta
- 1 Dirty Canasta
Subsequent Rounds: Players decide. However, can only have up to FOUR Sequences combined (Samba or Super Samba) with at least 1 Super Samba every round.
A Super Samba uses all eleven cards in one suit. This is worth 5,000 points.
Strategy of how to complete the required books will be taught in the class.

For students outside East Northport or those who prefer remote instruction. Receive the same personalized attention as in-person participants.
